The course Teaching English for Young Learners (TEYL) is an elective course with a weight of 2 credits that focuses on the principles, methods, techniques, and practices of teaching English language to young children. This course is designed to prepare students to become effective English teachers for children. After taking this course, students are expected to be able to understand a number of theoretical perspectives, basic concepts, and common issues in Teaching English for Young Learners (TEYL). In addition, they are expected to explain various problems, obstacles, and current issues in TEYL (Issues on TEYL) both domestically and internationally. Therefore, it is important for students to first understand the relationship between child development and language learning. This understanding will be integrated with the topic of Bloom's Taxonomy and its relevance to Teaching English for Young Learners. This understanding will help students in designing lesson plans and teaching modules for TEYL, including teaching resources, learning media, assessment and evaluation, and material development so that students are able to apply effective ways of teaching English to young learners.
